Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and preparing rental equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role supports a fleet of oilfield surface rental equipment including telehandlers, aerial work platforms (manlifts), light towers, generators, compressors, and other construction and support equipment. The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in maximizing equipment uptime while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services according to manufacturer recommendations and company schedules.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, and fuel system issues.
  • Inspect incoming rental equipment for damage, wear, and operational readiness.
  • Prepare equipment for rental by ensuring it is clean, fully functional, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures in the shop and occasionally in the field.
  • Perform repairs on:
  • Telehandlers
  •  Manlifts (boom lifts and scissor lifts)
  •  Light towers
  •  Portable generators
  •  Air compressors
  •  Skid steers and other construction equipment
  • Complete accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection reports.
  • Ensure all repairs comply with OSHA, manufacturer, and company safety requirements.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency service calls as required.
  • Assist with equipment loading, unloading, and yard organization when needed.
Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience maintaining heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or oilfield equipment.
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Diesel engines
  •  Hydraulic systems
  •  Electrical systems (12V and 24V)
  •  Mechanical drive systems
  •  Preventive maintenance procedures
  • Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, telehandlers, and other equipment safely (or ability to become certified).
  • OSHA safety training.
  • HVAC 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple repairs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills for work orders and maintenance software.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, kneel, bend, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders and elevated equipment safely.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE at all times.
Work Environment

  • Shop and outdoor yard environment.
  • Exposure to dust, mud, grease, noise, vibration, and changing weather conditions.
  • Occasional travel to customer locations for field service.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
Compensation: $23.00 - $34.00 per hour
